Farms and Orchards

There are a lot of wonderful farms and pick-your-own orchards in the area. You and your children will enjoy picking seasonal fruits, taking hayrides and visiting with the farm animals. We've listed a few here. Please call to check picking conditions and hours.

Berlin Orchards

Your children will love visiting Berlin Orchards. They can enjoy the Strawberry Festival in June, pony rides, apple picking and hayrides in the fall, and a visit to the maple sugar house in the winter. There is always something special to see and do at the farm.

Davis' Farmland

This is a great place to take your kids. Not only will they will love seeing so many unique farm animals, they will get a rare chance to feed all of them, too. Most of the animals are very friendly. You can also walk into many of the pens and pet the animals. Enjoy a hayride, a chance to milk the goats and cows, explore numerous toddler play areas, and relax in the picnic area. They have a delicious ice cream and snack foods when you get hungry. We had a great day here and will definitely go back soon.

Drumlin Farm

Drumlin Farm, of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, is a working farm in Lincoln. Enjoy the stroller friendly walking trails as you visit the different animals living on the farm. There are horses, pigs, sheep, goat,chickens and more. The farm also lets you visit the wounded caged owls, crows and vultures they have saved from the wild. This is a fun place to stroll and children love to get a close up look at the animals.

Additional information: Drumlin Farm has its own seasonal farm stand. They also offer classes for children and great programs during school vacation week.. Don't forget to visit the gift shop.

Hanson's Farm

Hanson's Farm is a fun place to visit with your children. You can pick-your-own seasonal fruit and say hello to the calves, horses and chickens living on the farm. In October, childen can pick a pumpkin, go through the corn maze and explore the haunted house. They also offer hayrides on weekends.

Honey-Pot Hill Orchards

Honey-Pot Hill Orchards is a great place to spend the day picking seasonal fruit, visiting farm animals, eating freshly baked apple donuts and enjoying hayrides. Children also love to explore the large maze that is on the farm.

Kimball Farm Corn Maze

Kimball Farm Corn Maze is a 6-acre corn field with paths cut into it in the design of a Llama and Sunflowers. It is open to the public Fri. through Sun. from 11AM to 7PM starting August 24th. Please see the website for admission info. Other attractions at the Maze will be Hay rides, farm animals, and hay bale rolling and throwing contests. There is also a Country Store with refreshments and pumpkins for sale. Take home a T-shirt as a way to remember your day at the Maze! Land's Sake

Land's Sake is a beautiful farm in Weston where children will enjoy hayrides, picking seasonal fruits and flowers, learning about the maple syruping process and exploring the land. The produce is organic so you don't have to worry about pesticides. In October, children can choose their favorite pumpkins from a large pile of pumpkins. The farm offers classes and workshops and birthday parties and scavenger hunts to children.

Lookout Farm is a fun place to visit. You can pick seasonal fruit and enjoy a visit to the shop where they sell everything from meats to delicious baked goods, produce and gelato. Children will enjoy the animal barn where they can get a close up look at peacocks, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens and more. You can also have your child's birthday party at the farm.

Natick Community Organic Farm

The Natick Community Organic Farm is a fun place to visit animals and buy local organic produce and plants. You will see the chickens, rabbits, goats, cows and more. The paths are not stroller friendly but the animals are housed in a small area. They do not sell a large assortment of food but you might find something you like. The farm offers classes to children.

Shelburne Farm

Enjoy apple and pumpkin picking, cider doughnuts and caramel apples. Children will also love the hayrides, pony rides and farm animals.

Tougas Family Farm

Tougas Farm is not only just a great place to pick your own Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, pumpkins and more! Visit with the farm animals, let the kids romp in the "Farmyard" playground and enjoy a fresh made fruit dessert at the kitchen. The farm has been declared a "Family Friendly" business, and welcomes families and school groups. Watching the "free range" rabbits, ducks and guinea fowl scramble amongst the fruit trees is a special treat.
